Relocating back to New York

Relocating to New York

After 15+ years as Professor of Jazz Trombone at the University of the Perfoimring Arts in Graz, Austria I'll be relocating back to New York City area.

It's been a great time teaching in Graz and earlier in Luzern Switzerland.  I've reallty learned a lot and feel that my artistic abilities have imporved greatly.

I'll be relocating back to New York this summer 2017.

I won't be retiring from teaching, composing, conducting or performing, but I will be graduating to the next stage of life.

I will be giving a solo recital and a lecture demonstration "Creative Practicing - Practice Creatively"at the International Trombone Symposium in Mannheim Germany March 9-12, 2017.

I also be conducting my Trombone Ensemble from the University of the perfomring Arts, Graz Austria in a program of originals and arrangements.

New piece written for and performed with Joe Lovano

On the occasion of the 50th anniversairy of the Jazz Department at KUG University Graz the KUG Allstar Big Band, conducted by Michael Abane, invited Joe Lovano as Guest Soloist. Included was a piece that I wrote for and dedicated to Joe Lovano: "Flowing", featuring both of us as soloists.

My production company MeisteroMusic has received two Grants to record my large ensemble compositions ...


MeisteroMusic Productions has received two Grants to record my large ensemble compositions. That's great! An oppportunity to recorded with the NeuHat Ensemble in a studio enviornment.  The live recordings are a great documentation, but there is nothing like taking the time to get everything "right".
