Presented by the composers’ collective Improvisatory Minds, “Chamber Music by Jazz Composers” showcases new and recently written chamber works, and will include at least one world premiere.  Featuring works by Bevan Manson, Ed Neumeister, Michael Patterson, Dennis Dreith, with special guest artist Billy Drewes, from the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.

Artists performing on the February 10th concert in Christ and St. Stephen’s Church will include Miranda Cuckson, violin; Jennie Hansen, viola; Billy Drewes, clarinet and saxophone; Mark Lopeman, alto sax: Katherine Fink, flute and piccolo; Harry Searing, bassoon; Dominic Derasse, trumpet; Chris Komer, French horn; Ed Neumeister, trombone; John Arrucci, percussion and marimba; Brad Dutz, marimba and percussion; Lee Musiker, piano; and Bevan Manson, piano

Celebrating the 100th Birthday of Billy Strayhorn and release of Suite Ellington CD.

November 29, 2015 the 100th birthday of Billy Strayhorn and the European release date of the new CD "Suite Ellington" featuring Billy Drewes, Jim Rotondi, Jeff Ballard, Peter Herbert and the late great Fritz Pauer.

The CD release concert on the 29th at Porgy and Bess, Vienna will feature the Budapest Jazz Orchestra performing the arrangements from the CD expanded for Big Band.

Improvisatory Minds Concert at Classical Encounters

Classical Encounters Foundation, a chamber music concert series in Tarzana, CA, will host the 5th installment on IMPROVISTORY MINDS, featuring music by John Williams, Andre Previn, and IMPROVISTORY MINDS composers Bevan Manson, Michael Patterson, Gernot Wolfgang and Ed Neumeister.  The April 27 concert will feature pianist Gloria Cheng, bassonost Judith Farmer, and the Los Angeles based Panic Duo (Pasha Tseitlin - violin & Nic Gerpe - piano).

The Panic Duo will perform the world Priemier of Ed's
Seven Vignettes fir Violin and Piano.
