Reflection CD, Ed Neumeister Quartet
Welcome!
7/4/2008 7:49:42 PM - Welcome to my web site! Have a look around. There is lot’s to read, listen and watch.

Have you seen my videos on YouTube? They are also here, below. They will soon be compiled and made into a DVD that will be purchasable here through the site. Stay tuned for that.

I’m in the process, albeit slowly, in re-organizing the site. Stay tuned

As you might know, I’ve added Composing for Film, TV and New Media to my many Hats. So far so good. Just finishing my first film score. It’s a short 26 minute film about a newspaper editor, dircted by Adam Christian Clark, an up-and-coming director. I think it is quite good. Hopefully it will make a little noise. As soon as we can we, will put some excerpts up for you to see and later we will have the complete film viewable here.

Have a look around the site and please…..stay in touch.

Let me know if you would like to added to my mailing list.

Peace!

Ed

Focus on Focus Video Lecture
Ed discusses staying focused on the task of the moment in order to avoid mistakes and to be more efficient and effective in work and life.
Suite for Piano Quartet & Improvising Soloist
Come to the concert in Ireland. It was recorded by the RTE Radio in Dublin and video taped and edited by yours truely. This is a good example of my latest compositions, as I mix various genres...... The critics hated it! What do you think?
"Reflection"
Have you listened to Reflection yet? Listen to the cd before you buy it. It's currently available exclusively through this web site. Purchase includes extra audio commentary, lead sheets and more.

The radio is to your left. Have a listen. It’s free. See what you think. If you like it, why not buy it? Come and join us!

“Reflection” is the latest CD from the Ed Neumeister Quartet. The idea is that after listening to the steaming mp3 files you will want to have one for your very own. You’ll also receive an audio greeting and audio commentary on the cd plus some lead sheets and more. By clicking on the link below you can even read the liner notes and check out some of the reviews.

Currently "New Standards" is streaming on the radio. Have a listen. It's available here on it's own with extra audion comentary, leadsheets and more and it's also available as a "double-up" special, together with reflections.

“Wake Up Call” is sharing the centerpiece of the site with our new quartet CD “Reflection”. You can listen to both on the radio. “Wake Up Call” is the result of the commission I received last year: “the ASCAP/IAJE commission in honor of Ornette Coleman.” The idea is for you to get interested enough, after listening to the piece and looking around and reading some of the commentary, to join us as a “Participant”. You can come in for ten bucks and receive on-going commentary and pod and video casts etc. For 16.95 you will receive the CD in the mail. And for $85, you can become a “Composer Participant” with access to audio visual demonstrations and lectures as the pieces develop. There are high level Participant levels for those who would like to give extra support to the project. Please go to the Participant page for more info. There is also a good description of all the participation levels for download at the epk page.

Please have a look around. There is a lot to check out, read, look and listen. Enjoy!

Keep in touch!
"Creative Practicing - Practice Creatively" and three new solo performance videos.
Ed presents a video demonstration lecture series covering the subjects of: Posture, breathing, warming up the muscles, developing technique, improvisation and composition. Good for players of any instrument.

Creative Practicing - Practice Creatively is a five part video series. Ed discusses and demonstrates ways to make "doing" more focused, enjoyable, efficient and effective. He uses practicing an instrument as an example of how to remain focused on the task of the moment. Using breathing, improvisation and composition to develop technique on the instrument. Also available at YouTube.com & Google Video (see links under events).

Also recently added are three solo performances on video.

Check them out.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks, Ed
Reflection Participant Offer
Reflection is the latest recording from the Ed Neumeister Quartet and features the great Austrian pianist Fritz Pauer and New York stalwarts Drew Gress and John Hollenbeck on bass and drums. We have been together for more than seven years, so this is a “band”. “New Standards”
MeisteroMusic, released last year, was our first recording. It’s no mystery that players get to know each other by playing together, so when the...
